The first ever Intelligent Sport® event in Hong Kong, the 2007 HK Challenge was a great success with 35 teams from top international and local corporations competing in a series of strategic, physical and mental tasks on Lantau Island over three days, two nights. It is an innovative and effective way for developing talent and promoting team work through various specially designed tasks such as code breaking, navigation and kayaking.

This year, the SmarTone-Vodafone HK Challenge will move to a new venue, Gold Coast. With an increased capacity and gruelling terrain, the competition will definitely be more challenging and more fun!

The SmarTone-Vodafone HK Challenge is part of the 2008 Challenger World Series which includes competitions in Singapore, the US, the UK, France, Germany, Brazil and South Africa. The top three teams from the Challenge will represent Hong Kong to compete with the best teams from around the world at the World Series Final, which will be held in Cyprus in December 2008.

An integral component of the event is its charity initiative. Last year, HK$500,000 was raised for The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) to establish the SmarTone-Vodafone AYP International Exchange Programme Fund. The objective of the Fund is to support young people with limited means to take part in the international exchange programmes of AYP, with the aim to broaden their international exposure as well as to improve their interpersonal and leadership skills.
